In a recent development in Arizona, two citizen journalists confronted former state Senator Tony Navarrete, an associate of Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, as he entered court on Wednesday.

Navarrete, who is facing serious allegations of child sexual abuse, pleaded not guilty to seven felony charges related to pedophilia involving his nephews.

According to court documents from Maricopa County Superior Court, Navarrete allegedly admitted to inappropriate sexual contact with the minor in a phone call recorded by the police. The Gateway Pundit previously reported on these disturbing allegations, stating that Navarrete "acknowledged touching the victim's penis and performing oral sex on the youth multiple times over several years."

The victims, including two of Navarrete's nephews, provided their testimonies, along with two nieces and his mother. The AZ Capitol Times reported that Navarrete, who was indicted in 2021 and subsequently resigned from the Senate, vehemently denied the allegations during his testimony on Tuesday. He insisted that the testimonies from his two nephews were false and that the prosecutors had misinterpreted the recorded phone conversation.

Navarrete, who appeared composed and direct on the stand, addressed the jury earnestly and spoke clearly. The defense and state were set to make their closing arguments on Wednesday, following which the jury would deliberate on a verdict. As of now, the jury has not yet delivered a verdict.

Navarrete's political connections extend to State Representative Athena Salman and Senator Juan Mendez, his Democratic colleagues who assisted him in drafting a bill requiring all Arizona schools to implement sexual education instruction starting in Kindergarten. This unsuccessful proposal by the Democrats would have mandated sexual education instruction for students as young as four years old. Navarrete's associate, Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, had also sponsored similar legislation during her tenure in the Arizona Senate.

In a recent controversial move, Hobbs vetoed a bill that would have made it illegal to film or facilitate sexually explicit acts in government buildings and classrooms. This decision came months after an Arizona teacher was dismissed for filming explicit content in her classroom and uploading it to OnlyFans.

In the video, they can be heard questioning Navarrete about his alleged crimes and his relationship with Hobbs. They asked if Hobbs was aware of his alleged actions and if she would be supporting him during his time in prison.
