The app allows foreign nationals to schedule asylum appointments remotely. Startling data reveals that 95.8% of all inadmissible aliens who used the app were released into the country with a notice to appear in immigration court. This is concerning given that there are approximately 2.1 million immigration court cases, with some individuals receiving court dates as far out as 2032 and 2035.
The House Homeland Security Committee press release highlights that "hundreds of thousands of inadmissible aliens, including from hostile nations like Russia," have been released into the United States. The data provides a country-by-country breakdown, revealing that out of 278,431 scheduled appointments, 266,846 individuals were released into the country. Notably, 97% of foreign nationals from Venezuela, 94% of Russians, 93% of those from Afghanistan, and 88% of those from China were allowed entry into the United States.

The release of such a large number of foreign nationals through the CBP One app raises concerns about potential security risks. Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) accuses Secretary Mayorkas of abusing the app in his pursuit of open borders. Green emphasizes that releasing tens of thousands of individuals into communities without proper vetting is irresponsible, particularly in a time of rising global tensions.

The new data also follows reports that Mexican drug cartels have been exploiting the CBP One app to profit by selling virtual private networks to foreign nationals, enabling them to request appointments from anywhere in the world. This expands the reach of the app beyond the geofence targeting northern Mexico.
