The Action Network is a tool also employed by the AFL-CIO, the Daily Kos, Black Lives Matter, the Women’s March, and the Democratic National Committee, among others. It has played a significant role in the election of Democrats across the United States.
The Action Network, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, claims to have "assisted the Women’s March in mobilizing massive rallies worldwide, helped the DNC raise millions for candidates and organizations, and much more." The IRS categorizes a 501(c)(4) as a "social welfare organization" that is not-for-profit for groups "operated exclusively for the promotion of social welfare."

The New York City branch of the DSA is using this platform to organize protests against Israel, which was viciously attacked by Hamas on October 7. Israel, in response, declared war and initiated retaliatory strikes. The DSA, however, believes these self-defense measures should be stopped and has called for a ceasefire.

The DSA has disseminated videos labeling Israel's counterattack on Hamas as a "genocide," alleging that Israel's objective is to "ethnically cleanse" Palestinians from Gaza. The Palestinian terror group Hamas, elected to govern the Palestinian territory in Gaza in 2006, has also called for a ceasefire, arguing that Israel is causing a humanitarian crisis. This demand has been echoed by U.S. Representatives Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Cori Bush, who have a history of anti-Semitic views. The DSA supports Bush's resolution, introduced in the U.S. House, to demand a ceasefire.

The resolution, presented by Representatives Cori Bush (MO-01), Rashida Tlaib (MI-12), André Carson (IN-07), Summer Lee (PA-12), and Delia C. Ramirez (IL-03), along with Representatives Jamaal Bowman (NY-16), Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04), Jonathan Jackson (IL-01), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14), Ilhan Omar (MN-05), Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), and Nydia Velázquez (NY-07), refers to the Palestinian territories as "occupied," and demands that Israel refrain from retaliating against the terrorists responsible for the deaths of more than 1,300 Israelis. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has dubbed these congressmembers the "Hamas Caucus," and has called for the censure of Tlaib over her comments. The DSA boasts nearly 100,000 members distributed across 207 chapters in all 50 states of the US.

The DSA is using the Action Network to organize their next pro-terrorist protest, dubbed “Ceasefire Now! Mass rally for Gaza!” The protest against one of America’s longest-standing allies asserts that “Palestinians are on the brink of a genocide, and our government is bankrolling it. Every year, the U.S. sends over $3 billion in military aid—now being used to rain bombs on Gaza.
As Americans, we are not observers in this conflict, we are actors. That’s why we are joining calls around the world and directing them at our government to call for an immediate ceasefire, to open humanitarian aid flows into Gaza, and to end U.S. funding for war crimes.” The protest is scheduled for Friday at 5 pm, outside the New York Public Library steps at Bryant Park. The DSA contends that this protest, and the demand for a ceasefire, places them “on the right side of history.”

The DSA NYC is joined by Jewish Voices for Peace-NY (JVP-NY), Adalah Justice Project (AJP), Desis Rising Up and Moving (DRUM), Crown Heights Tenants Union (CHTU), the Movement of Rank and File Educators (MORE), If Not Now-NY, Malaya Movement NY, Bangladeshi Americans for Political Progress (BAPP), Muslim American Society of New York, (MAS-NY), Muslim Democratic Club of New York (MDCNY) and Majlis Ash-Shura: Islamic Leadership Council of New York.
Jewish Voices for Peace staged a protest on Oct 18 at the U.S. Capitol, resulting in a sit-in, after which approximately 300 protesters were arrested. The Action Network prides itself on its ability to “Mobilize communities, raise money, and engage supporters with tools built for change-makers, by change-makers.”
