Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is intensifying his commitment to challenge former President Donald Trump on the Republican presidential campaign trail.

While he is not ready to reveal his plans just yet, Christie has filed to place his name on the presidential primary ballot in New Hampshire, the second contest in the 2024 GOP nominating calendar. In an interview with Fox News, Christie hinted at his strategy, saying, "Get ready. That's all I'm going to tell you."

He acknowledged the challenge of confronting Trump, who is the only candidate with Secret Service protection, but expressed confidence in his ability to navigate the situation due to his background in law enforcement.

Christie, who is making his second run for the White House, has long vowed to take down Trump on the debate stage. He has emphasized his debate skills and positioned himself as a strong challenger to the former President.

However, with Trump skipping the first two GOP presidential debates and announcing that he will not participate in the third debate, Christie has pledged to find another way to ensure that Trump is not the Republican Party's nominee in 2024. He stated, "We've got 100-plus days until the primary. Donald Trump and I will come face-to-face, whether it's on a debate stage or whether it's when he's walking out of a building somewhere."

Christie's previous campaign for President in 2016 focused heavily on the Granite State of New Hampshire. However, he finished a disappointing sixth place in the primary, far behind Trump, who went on to secure the nomination and win the presidency. Despite their past alliance, Christie and Trump had a falling out after Trump's unsuccessful attempts to overturn his 2020 election loss to President Biden.

In recent years, Christie has become one of the harshest critics of Trump within the Republican Party. He has not held back in his criticism, calling Trump "completely full of crap" and describing him as a "soulless human being" who only cares about himself.

Christie's attacks on Trump have drawn a response from the former president's campaign. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung referred to Christie as a "sad, pathetic parasite" and dismissed his tough-guy act as fake. Despite the backlash, Christie has remained steadfast in his criticism of Trump and his determination to challenge him in the 2024 race.

In addition to targeting Trump, Christie has also taken aim at some of his fellow Republican contenders. He criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former Ambassador Nikki Haley for trying to emulate Trump without truly being like him. However, his strongest criticism has been reserved for Vivek Ramaswamy, a multimillionaire biotech entrepreneur and first-time candidate who is Trump's biggest supporter in the 2024 field.

Christie has repeatedly attacked Ramaswamy, calling him a "joker" and dismissing his ideas as dumb. Ramaswamy, in turn, has defended his positions and accused Christie of being part of the bipartisan establishment that created the border crisis.

As Christie continues to ramp up his campaign, he faces the challenge of meeting the polling and donor thresholds set by the Republican National Committee to qualify for the third debate. While he has yet to reach these requirements, Christie remains confident that he will qualify and be on the stage.

With his experience in law enforcement and his reputation as an effective communicator, Christie is positioning himself as a strong contender in the race for the Republican nomination in 2024.
