Comedian Amy Schumer is facing criticism from the left after sharing a meme on her official Instagram account that suggests Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ activists have abandoned Jews who supported their causes after terrorist attacks on Israel.

The meme, which Schumer posted alongside a story, reads: "First they came for LGBTQ and I stood up, because Love is Love. Then they came for immigrants and I stood up, because families belong together. Then they came for the black community and I stood up because Black Lives Matter. Then they came for me, but I stood alone, because I am a Jew."

The backlash against Schumer was swift, with many on the left accusing her of racism and insensitivity. Writer Elias Cepada called Schumer an "explicit racist" and criticized her for posting "White tears nonsense." Héctor E. Alcalá accused Schumer of framing herself as an activist for marginalized groups while making racist jokes against Latinx people. Activist Aisha Willis, a queer Black woman, expressed disappointment in Schumer's lack of support for marginalized communities.

The criticism intensified when a user on X shared a screenshot of Schumer's meme, which received over 27.3 million views. One commenter even expressed a desire for Schumer to disappear from the earth permanently.

This is not the first time Schumer has faced controversy. In 2018, she spoke out against then-President Donald Trump's policies, describing them as a "nightmare" that made it difficult for her to write and perform jokes as a stand-up comic. She also faced backlash for suggesting that a woman of color should have starred in her latest movie instead of her.

It is worth noting that Schumer is the second cousin of Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York.
