Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, was met with a chorus of boos and chants of "Bring back Twitter" during his attendance at the Valorant World Championship Final in Los Angeles.

Musk, who purchased Twitter for $44 billion last year, was briefly captured on camera during the broadcast of the popular video game tournament, sparking an immediate and negative reaction from the crowd.

The event's announcers, taken aback by the audience's response, did not comment on Musk's brief appearance. "Where is that from? That can't be from in here, surely," one announcer questioned. Shortly after, the crowd began chanting for Musk to revert to the platform's previous brand name, much to the amusement of the broadcasters.

A video of the incident, shared by user Jake Lucky, quickly gained traction on Musk's own platform, amassing nearly 12 million views and over 80,000 likes by Monday afternoon. Musk, who was seen at the event with his son, X AE A-XII Musk, has been the subject of public disapproval before. Last December, he was booed after joining comedian Dave Chappelle on stage during a performance.

Musk dismissed the incident, labeling the booing crowd members as "unhinged leftists." The tech mogul has been under intense public scrutiny as he leads a significant revamp of the social media site. As reported by The Post last month, industry analysts cautioned that Musk risked a significant marketing misstep by replacing Twitter's recognizable blue bird logo with the black-and-white X.

Musk defended the change, arguing it was necessary to reflect his vision of transforming the company from a social media platform into an "everything app."

Last week, Musk further stirred controversy by announcing plans to remove headlines and texts from all news articles posted on X. Instead, articles will only display a lead image, with no other context. Musk justified the move, stating it would "improve the aesthetics" of the platform.
