Antifa members in Portland, Oregon are preparing to host an event this weekend, described as a "radicalization & recruiting" gathering.

The event, dubbed the "Fash Free Festival", is scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon at Colonel Summers Park in the eastern part of the city.

The organizers of the event have extended an invitation to fellow activists, encouraging them to "wear a mask and stay a while." The event promises to offer free black bloc clothing, zines, and other far-left propaganda materials.

The group has also used the event to celebrate the violent attack on Andy Ngo, a journalist who suffered a brain injury following an assault by Antifa members. The organizers have urged attendees to celebrate a recent court ruling that found two activists not guilty.

During the trial, the account promoting the event encouraged people to "get yer cement milkshakes and head downtown."

Ngo has expressed concerns that the event will be used for "radicalization & recruiting" individuals into "violent extremist affinity groups, or cells." He noted that "prior Antifa events of a similar nature distribute[d] extremist texts (urging for insurrections, killings & attacks on people & property)."

Ngo also revealed that Portland Parks and Recreation confirmed to him that the gathering had not received permission from the city.

The Fash Free Festival was "planned by a group of trusted individuals with an established history of antifascist activism in the Pacific Northwest," to celebrate "another year without far right groups organizing a summer rally in Portland."

According to the organizers, the event will feature live music and attendees will have access to "free black bloc clothes to take, tables with paint, patches, stickers, art, zines and more."

The organizers have also encouraged attendees to "redecorate" and bring a "fash banner or flag [they've] liberated but haven't burned yet."

However, the event has been met with criticism, with one user arguing that it could not be considered "fash free" as long as Antifa members were present, labeling them as "the totalitarian tyrants."

"Quite organized for a non-organization that doesn’t exist," another user sarcastically commented, referring to the left's claim that Antifa is merely an idea.
