Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a traditional Democrat and candidate for US President, has filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court Northern District of California against Google and its subsidiary YouTube.

Kennedy alleges that Google collaborated with the federal government to create and enforce "misinformation" policies in order to censor political opponents, including himself. He argues that these actions violate the First Amendment, particularly when they are a result of a partnership with government sources.

Kennedy recently attended a hearing held by The Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, which examined the government's role in censoring Americans, the Missouri v. Biden case, and the collusion between Big Tech and government agencies to stifle speech. The lead plaintiff in the Missouri v. Biden lawsuit is Jim Hoft from The Gateway Pundit.

Scott Street, the lead attorney for the litigation, asserts that the government cannot censor its critics, either directly or by empowering private entities like Google to act as censors. He emphasizes that this principle is fundamental to American democracy, particularly when it comes to political speech. The lawsuit aims to preserve voters' freedom to speak, hear, and think for themselves.

One of the instances cited in the lawsuit is YouTube's removal of Kennedy's interview with podcast host Jordan Peterson, which was deemed to be spreading misinformation. Kennedy has been vocal about various topics, including toxic chemicals, the origins of Covid, and safety concerns regarding COVID-19 vaccines. Google has justified the removal of videos discussing these topics by claiming they contain "medical misinformation." However, many of the removed videos during the 2024 presidential campaign were unrelated to public health issues.

Kennedy's speech at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College was also removed by Google. The speech, viewed as a political speech and attended by prominent New Hampshire Democrats, focused on Kennedy's concerns about the corrupt merger of corporate and state power, an issue he has been fighting against for decades.

These actions by Google are seen as a violation of the long-held American belief in free speech. The U.S. Supreme Court has emphasized the importance of protecting speech from government interference, as it is the foundation of thought and freedom.

Kennedy is seeking an injunction to prevent Google from using its "misinformation" policies to censor him during his presidential campaign. The case has been assigned to Judge Nathanael Cousins.

The lawsuit highlights the increasing role of YouTube as a platform for political discourse in America, serving as a digital town square where voters seek news and opinions on current issues. However, Google's censorship of views that contradict the narratives of the U.S. government has affected numerous Americans. Kennedy's case is particularly significant as it involves the censorship of a major presidential candidate, an unprecedented occurrence in American history.
