Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is scheduled to appear on Capitol Hill next week to address the issue of government censorship of free speech.

Kennedy, a member of the Kennedy family, will provide testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, which is controlled by Republicans and led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

The hearing, set for July 20, will focus on the federal government's role in censoring Americans, the Missouri v. Biden case, and the collusion between Big Tech and government agencies to stifle speech.

One of the key topics Kennedy is expected to discuss is the White House's attempt to censor him earlier this year for sharing COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

In a recent preliminary injunction issued by Judge Terry Doughty, the Biden administration was blocked from contacting social media companies due to collusion between the government and Big Tech to suppress Americans' First Amendment rights.

The ruling highlighted an email sent by the former digital director of the White House's COVID-19 Response Team to Twitter, requesting the removal of one of Kennedy's tweets.

Kennedy celebrated the ruling, accusing the Biden administration of engaging in "blatant censorship." He emphasized that the case is not simply about government agencies working with or contacting social media platforms, but rather about the government's collusion and coercion of tech companies to censor constitutionally-protected speech.

Kennedy stressed the importance of freedom of speech, stating, "Without freedom of speech, there is no democracy."

In addition to Kennedy, Emma-Jo Morris, a political editor at Breitbart News, and D. John Sauer, the special assistant attorney general of Louisiana, will also testify before the weaponization panel next week. The Justice Department has filed a notice of appeal in the Big Tech collusion case.

The hearing is expected to shed light on the growing concern over government censorship and the collaboration between Big Tech and government agencies to control the flow of information.

Kennedy's testimony, along with the other witnesses, will provide valuable insights into the challenges faced by individuals and organizations in exercising their right to free speech.

As the case continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the courts will address the issue of government censorship and its implications for democracy and the First Amendment.
