Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has stated that if he is elected president and his attorney general determines that "crimes were committed," he would prosecute Dr. Anthony Fauci for his actions during the coronavirus pandemic.

During an interview on "Jesse Watters Primetime," Kennedy was questioned about his conspiratorial views on vaccines, his previous claims about the CIA's involvement in the assassination of his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, and his challenge to President Biden for the Democratic nomination in 2024. The discussion also touched on Kennedy's book, "The Real Anthony Fauci, Bill Gates, Big Pharma and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health."

Host Jesse Watters asked Kennedy why he referred to Fauci as "the devil" and whether he still intended to prosecute Fauci if he or the National Institutes of Health were implicated in the Wuhan lab leak. Kennedy responded, "If there were crimes that he committed, of course, I would tell the attorney general to prosecute him, not hold off."

Kennedy has been publicly critical of Fauci's handling of the pandemic, frequently challenging his positions on public health policies and vaccines. While Kennedy did not explicitly state whether he believes Fauci is guilty of committing a crime, he accused him of causing harm by not making early treatments more accessible to Americans during the initial stages of the outbreak.

According to Kennedy, the United States had the highest death count in the world due to bad policy, with 16% of COVID deaths despite only having 4.2% of the global population. He argued that other countries that provided early treatments like Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine to their populations had significantly lower death rates. Kennedy suggested that health officials at the time knew their actions would be harmful.

Fauci recently expressed concern about Kennedy's growing popularity, stating that people could be influenced by his unchecked vaccine theories, potentially leading to unnecessary deaths.

When asked about his belief in the unfounded theory linking childhood vaccinations to autism, Kennedy clarified that the public misunderstands his general opinions on the subject. He stated that he believes autism can result from vaccines but emphasized the need for rigorous scientific testing and placebo-controlled trials for vaccines, similar to other medications.

Kennedy, a member of the prominent Kennedy family political dynasty, currently trails behind President Biden in the polls for the Democratic presidential nomination. However, he has garnered support in the teens in several surveys.
