US Cities Swap Fireworks for Drone Light Displays for Environmental Reasons.

In an effort to prioritize environmental concerns, several cities in the United States have decided to replace traditional July 4th fireworks shows with drone light displays. Salt Lake City, Utah, is one of the cities embracing this non-traditional approach.

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendehall explained that the decision to opt for drone shows instead of fireworks was driven by a desire to protect the city's air quality and prevent wildfires in the area.

The city of Boulder, Colorado, has also made the switch, citing increased fire danger fueled by climate change as one of the factors behind their decision.

However, not everyone is thrilled about this change. Some Facebook users expressed their disappointment with Boulder's announcement, calling the decision "lame" and expressing their preference for traditional fireworks.

The move away from fireworks in favor of drone displays is not limited to these cities. According to CNN, fire threats and environmental concerns have prompted several US cities to forgo traditional Fourth of July fireworks this year.

Salt Lake City recently held its first-ever drone show to celebrate Independence Day, with Mayor Mendenhall emphasizing the importance of minimizing fire danger and addressing air quality issues.

In addition to the US, China has also been gravitating towards drone shows as a replacement for fireworks. In fact, China currently holds the world record for the largest drone show ever.

As concerns about the environment and noise pollution continue to grow, several cities in San Diego County, California, have also decided to forego fireworks displays.
