Seattle Homeowner, 71, Fights Off Pitchfork-Wielding Burglar With This OUTRAGEOUS Weapon

A 71-year-old homeowner in Seattle successfully defended himself against a burglar armed with a pitchfork by using a samurai sword, according to authorities.

The incident occurred over the weekend, prompting a response from local law enforcement.

Seattle police were called to the scene on Sunday afternoon after receiving a report of a residential burglary in the 2100 block of Beacon Avenue South. Upon arrival, officers detained two men in connection with the incident.

The victim, who was still holding the samurai sword, had visible injuries, while the other man had sustained a stab wound to his torso, as confirmed by the police. Bodycam footage obtained by FOX13 Seattle captured the bloodied victim recounting the events to the officers.

According to the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, he arrived home to find several items misplaced and a shattered kitchen window. As he continued to investigate, he discovered an intruder standing in his living room. A physical altercation ensued, during which the suspect used the pitchfork to gouge the victim's eye.

However, the victim managed to break free and retreated to a bedroom, where he retrieved a firearm. The suspect pursued him and attempted to wrestle the gun away. The victim's 61-year-old wife witnessed the struggle and intervened, trying to pull the suspect off her husband.

When the 71-year-old homeowner tried to shoot the suspect, the gun jammed, leaving him defenseless. In a desperate bid to protect himself, the victim located a samurai sword and used it to stab the intruder. The wounded suspect fled to a nearby residence, where he was later apprehended.

Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene, with Seattle Fire treating the victim for non-life-threatening injuries to his face and torso. The suspect, on the other hand, was taken to Harborview Medical Center to receive treatment for his non-life-threatening stab wound.

The 61-year-old suspect has been arrested on charges of burglary and will be booked into King County Jail once he has been medically cleared.
