James O’Keefe, the founder of O’Keefe Media Group (OMG), has criticized the mainstream media for their lack of coverage of a recent video released by his company.

The video features a BlackRock recruiter, Serge Varlay, who claims that the Russia-Ukraine war is “good for business” and that politicians, including senators and even the President of the United States, can be bought for as little as $10,000. Varlay also explains how the war helps BlackRock make money, using exploding grain silos as an example.

Despite the video’s explosive virality, with nearly 10 million views and over 100,000 likes on Twitter, search engines like Google appear to be suppressing its reach. When Just the News searched “BlackRock” on Google, the headline of the exposé didn’t appear until several pages into the news section. Google’s top three “popular” Twitter results were all from two days ago, and two of the three posts linked had only three likes on the social media site.

Google has denied manipulating its algorithm to suppress specific stories, stating that its ranking systems apply consistently to all online content without regard to political viewpoints. However, the company has long been accused of doing so. In 2020, conservative outlets like the Daily Caller and Breitbart experienced a sudden drop in website traffic and were virtually eliminated from search results in 2020. Internal communications obtained by the Daily Caller in 2018 revealed Google employees have discussed suppressing conservative outlets in its search feature.

BlackRock, the multi-trillion dollar asset management firm, is the second-largest institutional shareholder of Google (Alphabet Inc.), owning nearly 366,000,000 shares valued at $44.5 billion. O’Keefe has condemned the “corporate press” for their apparent lack of coverage of the story, stating that they have reported on BlackRock’s “investment” into reconstruction efforts in Ukraine but not on the aspect of the company revealed in the video.
