Elon Musk has responded to a tweet from frequent Spaces host Mario Nawfal regarding the potential release of Meta's competitor platform to Twitter, Threads.

In a surprising move, Musk threw out the idea of him and Mark Zuckerberg holding a cage fighting match. Zuckerberg's response on Instagram was simply, "Send Me Location."

Zuckerberg has been practicing jiu-jitsu and recently posted a picture of himself doing a Murph challenge for Memorial Day. The challenge consists of running a mile, doing 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 squats, and then running another mile in under an hour. Zuckerberg completed the challenge in an impressive 39 minutes.

After seeing this, Elon responded, "If this is for real, I will do it."

Aside from the potential for a boxing ring showdown, the two tech founders have been in a battle for market share.

While Facebook has held a large market share for some time, it has been declining in recent years while Twitter has been on the rise. According to rumors, many creators and public figures have grown frustrated with Twitter and the way it has been run by Musk, who has freed up the platform for free speech.

According to a report, the app has been internally codenamed 'Project 92' at Meta and will be called 'Threads' upon release.

A Meta spokesman told the BBC, "We believe there's an opportunity for a separate space where creators and public figures can share timely updates about their interests."
