Boston Police and Fire crews responded to a medical emergency at the Mary Ellen McCormack Housing complex on Saturday, where they discovered a disturbing scene.

The emergency services found a dead person, dozens of sex toys, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and four children hidden by an adult. The Boston Herald broke the news about the incident after obtaining public records. However, other media outlets in the New England area have mostly avoided the story, except for TB Daily News.

The incident report revealed that the apartment was in highly unsanitary conditions, and approximately six adults, who appeared to be males, were seen in the apartment.

The firefighters found four children in the back bedroom hidden by an adult male from first responders. The children were aged between 5 to 10 years old. It is unclear whether the children were related to the people in the apartment or if they lived there.

At-Large City Councilor Michael Flaherty was disgusted by stating, "This is sickening. I was informed by people at the scene that there were drugs, alcohol, sex toys all around the apartment as well as a dead body on the floor."

Flaherty, also the Public Safety chairman on the council, revealed that the dead body found on the floor was from an apparent overdose. He also stated that "a man wearing a wig claiming to be the father" of the kids was found in a back bedroom.

Many significant questions raised in the original reporting remain unanswered, including the identities of the people involved, the children's parents, and whether there are indications that human trafficking occurred.

A few Boston City Councilors have expressed their desire to hold hearings. The incident report has confirmed that the Boston Public Housing Authority runs the Mary Ellen McCormack Housing complex.
