The Idaho police are investigating a quadruple murder in Kellogg, a small mining community in northern Idaho.

The victims were identified as 65-year-old Kenneth Guardipee, his 41-year-old daughter Kenna Guardipee, and her two sons, 18-year-old Devin Smith and 16-year-old Aiken Smith. The alleged murderer, 31-year-old Majorjon Kaylor, was arrested shortly after the shooting. Kaylor, a father and apartment neighbor to the victims, was charged with four murder counts and booked into the Shoshone County jail.

While officials have not publicly identified a motivation for the shooting, Kaylor's wife, Kaylie Kaylor, has been making public statements about an alleged incident that might have sparked the shooting. Kaylie Kaylor and her children were playing outside the apartment when they saw Devin Smith allegedly masturbating in view of her and her daughters while standing in front of his window.

"I want people to know that my husband's a good person, everyone that knows him knows he's a good person," she said to the Idaho Tribune. "The police, our landlord, the one who was doing it, the person who was doing it to his family, all made us feel like we weren't safe and nothing was going to be done about it," she added.

Kaylie Kaylor also accused the police of believing the teenager's side of the story and not taking any action. "Why didn't Kellogg High School do something? Why didn't Kellogg police do something?" she added.

The police responded to the accusations made by the wife and said that they had investigated the incident she described and had recommended charges to the prosecutor's office. "I stand by what my officer did, and he did everything he could at the time. Nobody could have foreseen anything like this," said Kellogg Police Chief Paul Twidt.

The criminal complaint said that Majorjon Kaylor allegedly told police he "lost it" when Devin Smith's grandfather and his mother didn't want to do anything about the alleged masturbation incident. The complaint says the man told his wife, "he did what he had to do."

The investigation is ongoing, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 3. If convicted, Kaylor faces the death penalty.
