In New York City alone, it's estimated that up to 550 migrants arrive daily. One day last week, 900 asylum seekers made it to N.Y.C. Some claim that the city council isn't doing anything to support the migrants coming to the city.
Taking care of migrants is costly. New York City Mayor Eric Adamas notes that migrants cost billions. The strain on resources is so great that some migrants are behind bussed to upstate hotels.

Recently, police were called to Stewart Hotel in Manhattan. They found a four-month-old unconscious and in cardiac arrest. Medical professionals were unable to revive the migrant infant. She was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday. The female infant and her family arrived in the United States from Ecuador in January.

Police officers say no foul play is suspected, and the baby has no signs of trauma. The case is being thoroughly investigated by the New York Police Department and the Administration for Children's Services. A representative notes that the agencies take protecting all children in the city seriously.

Having to house migrants in hotels isn't an ideal situation. One hotel had to cancel a wedding a couple of weeks before the event because of the large number of migrants in the hotel.
Earlier this month, fights between migrants broke out at the Stewart Hotel. These left ten people facing disorderly conduct and assault charges.
The migrant crisis will not likely go anywhere unless border control becomes stricter. Sadly, the conditions aren't always ideal for the ones who make it to the United States.
