A 35-year-old woman out of Washington state has been arrested for many alleged crimes involving minors.

The woman told Clallam County Jail staff she identifies as a 15-year-old and as a boy. Prior to her arrest, she told a police officer that "she feels like teenagers 'understand' her better" and that "she 'identifies' better with teenage kids.

Amanda Dorrough, who goes by "Taz," was arrested for the "unlawful harboring of minors." She also provided drugs and alcohol to the runaways. Police uncovered a plan by Dorrough to flee Seattle, according to the Port Angeles Police Department.

The Port Angeles High School vice principal reached out to police on May 4 to report that two students had come to administrators at the school and admitted to the runaway plan.

The vice principal reported to police that eight students in the school allegedly hung out with Dorrough in a "gully near a church."

Fox News reports that local police had previously received ten individual reports about Dorrough's involvement with students in the area.

The first call to the police about Dorrough occurred on April 11, 2023. Many additional reports about Dorrough have come in since that first reported call.

Two days before the arrest, which took place on May 2, several officers searched the location of Dorrough's apartment for any signs of minors.

Their report states that they saw three teenagers "running through the parking lot away from Dorrough's apartment." An officer heard movement from inside the suspect's apartment, but no one came to the door. After repeated attempts by the officer failed to contact whoever was inside the apartment, the report noted that the officer then went to the gully, where students reportedly hung out with Dorrough.

According to the report, a student sitting next to Dorrough was identified as a runaway. The following day, May 3, Dorrough was contacted by police and informed that the student was a runaway.

The police also reported seeing four minors "cuddling with each other on the ground." One was identified as a runaway with a juvenile warrant.

Dorrough was arrested and charged with distributing a controlled substance to a minor. Dorrough posted bail on May 14.
