Drum Roll Please...Forbes Announces "The Angriest Airport In America"

According to Fox Business, figures from Forbes are available that were gathered and calculated from posts by air travelers about which airport is the angriest in the U.S. The best airport for customer service in the U.S. was also revealed.

Forbes used over 37,000 tweets to determine the angriest airports. The survey covered 12 months, beginning in March 2022, and tagged the 60 busiest airports.

John Wayne Airport, located near Anaheim in Orange County, is ranked in the No. 1 spot on Forbes 'Angriest Airports in America' list. Forbes survey noted travelers found the airport to be the most irritating.

According to Forbes, the angry tweets about John Wayne Airport were based on several areas. The tweets describing issues that made passengers angry, included "delayed," "complaints," "noise," and "staff."

According to a recent survey, onsite passengers at John Wayne Airport rated the airport four or five. That equated to 94 percent in passenger satisfaction. Of the ratings, 73 percent of passengers rated the airport a five.

Forbes also found that J. D. Power said John Wayne Airport had the second-highest customer satisfaction score among what were considered to be the largest airports. Holding the No. 1 spot for customer satisfaction is Tampa International Airport, located on the West coast of Florida.

Ranking at No. 52 is Indianapolis International Airport, which had the least angry travelers with complaints. The airport received 42 percent of tweets delegated to angry travelers.

Indianapolis International Airport holds its own with significant passenger traffic, transporting an estimated 8.7 million travelers using the airport in 2022.

Travelers taking to the sky have increased by 30 percent. The Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported in mid-March that in 2022, 853 million passengers flew through the U.S. skies compared to the 658 million airborne passengers in 2021.
