Hunter Biden has taken steps to go rogue with a new legal defense plan that the White House feels will cause more trouble for the President’s son, who is already facing several investigations.

Fox News shares information from a report by Axios that the top aides to the President have clashed with the younger Biden’s legal defense strategy.

The report by Axios on Friday claims the “tensions” have increased between Hunter and the President’s aides, which have led to his hiring a new lawyer that will bring a more “combative approach.” The move was made without Hunter consulting the President’s legal advisers.

A former Department of Justice spokesman has said the move by Hunter to go rogue and not consult the President’s advisers could be “a legitimate headache for the White House” because he is bypassing the “guardrails” the President’s advisers have in place.

Hunter is already facing investigations by the Department of Justice into potential tax fraud charges and the illegal purchase of a firearm. He is also being investigated for alleged business corruption by Republicans in Congress. There is also a case in Arkansas involving child support.

The Axios report said, “Top aides to President Biden have clashed with Hunter Biden’s team over strategies for dealing with the legal battles and Republican attacks that surround the President’s son.”

Axios also noted that much of the tension over Hunter’s legal strategies resulted in hiring attorney Abbe Lowell before consulting the President’s advisers.

The Axios report noted, “Lowell’s hiring was abrupt and unwelcome among some involved in Hunter Biden’s legal matters.”

Shortly after Lowell was hired, attorney Josh Levy resigned. Long-time lawyer Bob Bauer said he “had no role in hiring Lowell” and “was simply informed that Lowell was being hired.”

Hunter’s team is also “moving toward creating a legal defense fund and hiring ethics advisers for it,” which is not making the White House happy. The report added, “High-level Democrats and others are worried about the idea of the President’s son soliciting money to pay for his legal troubles.”

Anthony Coley, a former Justice Department spokesman, told Axios, “For this fund to work, it must be extraordinarily transparent and even restrictive by prohibiting foreign citizens and registered lobbyists from contributing.”

Coley added, “Without these types of guardrails, the fund will be a legitimate headache for the White House.”

The report notes a final decision about creating a legal defense fund has not been determined and informed readers that Hunter Biden is “reportedly millions of dollars in legal debt.”
