President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have officially announced their re-election campaign, promising to "finish the job" they started.

However, potential 2024 GOP White House hopefuls have already launched mortar shells, with mixed reactions online to the announcement.

South Carolina Republican Senator Tim Scott, who recently launched a 2024 presidential exploratory committee, told Fox News Digital that "another term would be a disaster for the American people."

He criticized Biden's record, saying it included "attacking our patriotism, targeting our religious liberties, leaving our border wide open, and wasting trillions of dollars we don’t have."

GOP presidential contender Larry Elder also criticized Biden's record, listing "record levels of inflation; high gas prices; reckless spending; support for COVID lockdowns that set American kids further back in math and reading; the disastrous Afghanistan pullout; borders overrun resulting in millions of unaccountable illegal aliens in the country, some of whom are on the terror watchlist; crime on the uptick in many of our major cities due to George Soros-backed soft-on-crime DAs and the Democrats’ anti-cop rhetoric; and forcing Americans to buy electric vehicles based on the dubious argument that EVs are more positive for the environment than gasoline-powered vehicles while making us even more dependent on China, or countries controlled by China, to mine and produce the rare earth minerals necessary for the EV battery, and in some cases, using child labor to do so."

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) chairman Richard Budd also weighed in, saying that "Joe Biden's term has been an unmitigated disaster for American families," and that the NRCC will force every House Democrat to answer for their votes to advance the crime, chaos, and skyrocketing costs that are the hallmarks of the Biden presidency.
