Drum Roll Please: Guess Who Is OUT At CNN And It's WAY Overdue?

Lemon, who hosted "CNN This Morning," was informed of his termination by his agent on Monday morning.

In a Twitter post, Lemon expressed his disappointment that he was not informed directly by management and said that he was never given any indication that he would not be able to continue his work at the network.

CNN confirmed Lemon's departure in a statement, with the network's CEO Chris Licht saying that Lemon and CNN "parted ways."

CNN also thanked Lemon for his contributions and said that he would always be a part of the CNN family. The morning show that Lemon hosted will continue to run, with the network committed to its success.

The announcement comes after a report by Variety alleging Lemon's history of threatening and making offensive remarks to female staffers at CNN.

Among other incidents, Lemon was reported to have become angry when he was passed over for a reporting assignment in favor of former CNN correspondent Kyra Phillips in 2008.

Phillips received two threatening texts from an unknown sender, and CNN leadership eventually traced them back to Lemon.

Lemon also faced criticism in February for his remarks about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley shortly after she announced a bid for the White House.

Lemon said on air that "Nikki Haley isn't in her prime, sorry. A woman is considered to be in their prime in 20s and 30s and maybe 40s." He has since apologized for his remarks, and Licht announced in late February that Lemon would undergo formal training following the sexist comments.

The departure of Lemon from CNN comes on the same day as Fox News announced the immediate departure of conservative primetime host Tucker Carlson.
