The son of the late U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of late President John F. Kennedy made the announcement at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, citing his familial ties to the city and the American Revolution's Boston roots.

Kennedy began his speech by comparing England's "corrupt merger of state and corporate power" during colonial rule to today's corporate-political atmosphere. He emphasized his mission to end the corrupt merger of state and corporate power that he believes is threatening to impose a new kind of corporate feudalism on the country.
"My mission over the next 18 months of this campaign, and throughout my presidency, will be to end the corrupt merger of state and corporate power," Kennedy stated in footage broadcasted by NTD News on YouTube.
The launch comes two weeks after Kennedy filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission, indicating his intention to run for president. While President Joe Biden has said he plans to announce his reelection bid "relatively soon," Kennedy marks the second Democrat to enter the race officially, following self-help guru and "spiritual thought leader" Marianne Williamson, who recently criticized Biden's track record on working-class issues in an interview with Breitbart News.

Despite his famous family name, Kennedy finds himself on the outs with the Democratic establishment and even his own family members in a political sense. He has been openly critical of the Biden administration, particularly with regards to the Coronavirus vaccine mandate.

Kennedy has singled out Dr. Anthony Fauci, whom he accused of partnering with pharmaceutical companies to sabotage safe and effective off-patent therapeutic treatments for AIDS, in his bestselling book The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health.

While some of Kennedy's family members have expressed frustration over his decision to run, others plan to support Biden, including his sibling Rory Kennedy. Additionally, Kennedy's cousin Caroline Kennedy serves as the U.S. ambassador to Australia under the Biden administration, while his nephew Joe Kennedy III is the U.S. Envoy to Northern Ireland.
