A Canadian pastor’s son is in hot water for reading the Bible and preaching on Saturday outside a public library during a drag queen story hour for children.

Nathaniel Pawlowski, son of the Rev. Artur Pawlowski, The younger Pawlowski, 23, told Fox News, “We went there just to preach, read the Bible and just speak.”

Now he potentially faces jail time and fines for his alleged violation of a new municipal bylaw banning protests up to 100 meters of a library. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) noted the law was modified with the term “intimidation” soon after the Rev. Derek Reimer was arrested for a similar offense at Seton Library in Calgary, disrupting a drag queen story time for children.

Clashes with the government are nothing new for the Pawlowski family. The Rev. Artur Pawlowski, who has defied COVID-19 restrictions, has been ordered by Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Adam Germain to recite a disclaimer of sorts each time he speaks in public, in addition to tens of thousands of fines and court costs.

It states: “I am also aware that the views I am expressing to you on this occasion may not be views held by the majority of medical experts in Alberta. While I may disagree with them, I am obliged to inform you that the majority of medical experts favour social distancing, mask-wearing, and avoiding large crowds to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Most medical experts also support participation in a vaccination program unless, for a valid religious or medical reason, you cannot be vaccinated. Vaccinations have been shown statistically to save lives and to reduce the severity of COVID-19 symptoms.”

Now, it’s his son’s turn to face the music. In the Saturday incident, Pawlowski and a friend, Deklan Friesen, were detained by police and moved away from the crowd. They were then cited for allegedly violating the new bylaw. Although there were other protestors who supported transgenderism, Pawlowski said that he and Friesen were the only people given citations.

Pawlowski said, “I asked the peace officers if they are going to enforce the same law on to the other side with the Antifa protesters, and he assured me [they would].” He added. “So, I waited the entire time until they left, and nobody was served a ticket except for myself and my friend for preaching, reading the Bible, and holding a prayer vigil.”

Pawlowski notes that “this radical gender ideology has gone too far.” He says Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek is pushing the “completely unconstitutional” law “because she is completely biased against anyone who disagrees with this alphabet community agenda.”

He said his citation required him to appear in court but listed no penalty.
