In a recent interview, Stephen A. Smith, a well-known ESPN commentator, defended former President Donald Trump against accusations of racism.

Smith affirmed that Trump is "not against Black people," adding that the former President's behavior shows he is only against things that do not benefit him. Smith spoke of his past friendship with Trump, sharing how they would often engage in sports discussions.

Though Smith spoke highly of their relationship, he stated unequivocally that he would not support Trump in any political elections, noting significant changes in Trump's personality since entering politics.

During the Semafor Media Summit, Smith emphasized that he knew Trump well before he rose to political prominence.

"But I will tell you this, I think when people call him racist and stuff like that – I’ve never thought about Trump like that," Smith said.
