Another customer’s dog attacked a customer at Home Depot.

However, the owner of that dog fled the scene. It appears that the dog owner must have had some idea that their dog had caused an injury to the individual that was in the store with them.

Fox News reports the customer was in a Home Depot store in Evergreen, Colorado. A dog owner and trainer approached them. The dog owner asked the customer to treat the dog as part of the training process.

However, that is when things went very wrong. The customer agreed to treat the dog, but that was when the dog bit the customer.

The dog owner and trainer then bolted out of the store with the dog. Store employees began to tend to the customer whom the dog bit.

The dog owner and trainer did not want anything to do with helping out even though their dog had caused the damage. They walked away from their responsibilities, creating a complicated situation for the injured individual.

Fox News reports that the victim sustained “significant injuries” and will require facial reconstruction surgery to get back to trying to live their life how they want to.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News that they posted surveillance pictures to identify and locate the individuals responsible for this attack. They were able to track her down the same day.

The authorities say that dogs typically undergo quarantine in these types of situations. They need to ensure that they take dangerous dogs out of the public so that the risk to society is not as high as it would otherwise be.

The Sherrif’s Office offered the following information on Facebook:

“The owner would be held accountable for restitution, or in the event of any enforcement action,” and “For dog bites, the dog is quarantined at their home for 10 days, to ensure the dog is not exhibiting any behaviors associated with rabies.”

At the moment, there aren’t any charges announced. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says it is still investigating the situation, and it is unclear if they will proceed with charges against the dog owner and trainer. They want to ensure they take every reasonable step to ensure they are only taking the measures necessary to hold responsible the people at fault.
