John Rich, a country music singer, has declared that he pulled cases of Bud Light from his Nashville bar as part of a boycott against the Anheuser-Busch brand.

This is in response to Anheuser-Busch partnering with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney in a polarizing promotional campaign. "The customers decide. Customers are king," Rich said during an appearance on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" on Monday.

He also stated that as a business owner, he noticed a decline in Bud Light sales in the past several days, giving him reason to remove the product from his shelves.

Anheuser-Busch previously celebrated Mulvaney's "365 Days of Girlhood" by sending her custom-made cans with her face on it. This drew hefty criticism on social media, with many ridiculing the brand for the partnership. Kid Rock even called for a boycott and used several Bud Light cases for target practice in a viral video.

When talking about the controversy in a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, he noted that people who have been loyal to brands for decades are finding it hard to stay that way, leading them to seek other American brands to support.

Bud Light's vice president of marketing, Alissa Heinerscheid, defended the controversial marketing move in a recent interview, where she explained that she was inspired to update the "fratty" and "out of touch" humor of the brand to be more inclusive.

She defended the partnership indicating that they work with hundreds of influencers across their brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across demographics.

"I’m a businesswoman, I had a really clear job to do when I took over Bud Light, and it was ‘This brand is in decline, it’s been in a decline for a really long time, and if we do not attract young drinkers to come and drink this brand there will be no future for Bud Light,'" Heinerscheid said.

Anheuser-Busch issued a statement, saying that they produce unique commemorative cans for fans and brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney, as a way to connect with audiences. "This commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public," an Anheuser-Busch spokesperson told Fox News.
