During her commentary, she asserted that the "defund the police" movement has been adopted by conservatives, who have become the force to be reckoned with when it comes to weakening the police.
According to Psaki, "It turns out, after all their outrage and fearmongering, they are the ones who want to defund law enforcement" and added that the calls from Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., to defund the FBI, the Department of Justice, and other federal agencies that critics warn have become politicized, were examples of such hypocrisy.

Psaki defended the government, reminding viewers that the Justice Department's primary responsibility is safeguarding the nation.
She argued, "Remember, the job of the Justice Department is not just to file abstract legal briefs, it is to keep our country safe. That phrase is literally in their mission statement."

Even former President Donald Trump has urged the GOP to defund the Department of Justice and FBI "UNTIL THEY COME TO THEIR SENSES" in his statement on Truth Social following his arrest. He also accused Democrats of weaponizing law enforcement in the U.S. and interfering with elections.
In response, Psaki accused Republicans of being hypocritical in their demands to defund these crucial government organizations that safeguard the country's citizens. She noted, "But these so-called champions of law and order want to defund, limit funds, and make cuts to those very agencies."

Psaki also accused MAGA Republicans and their now-indicted leader of deserving outrage from people who want fully-funded and supported law enforcement to tackle crime in America.
The host also made similar arguments while serving as the White House Press Secretary. Additionally, Psaki noted that a stimulus package proposed by President Biden in 2021 helped retain police officers on the beat across the nation. However, the package did not receive any Republican votes.
