A recent report from the United Nations encourages every wealthy nation to change its climate goals and encourages net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.

Previously, the plan was for 2050. However, GOP lawmakers received a memo about fighting against the alarmist report. The memo, sent by the Competitive Enterprise Institute, also includes talking points.

Fox News reports, “‘In the wake of the latest alarmist report from the United Nations about emissions and climate change, I wanted to draw your attention to three new developments and realities that you should be aware of as climate debate continues,’ the memo stated.”

First, the memo points out that the argument about climate change drastically altering human and animal life may need to be revised. According to a project completed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the temperature peaked in 2015.

However, we’re constantly told that carbon emissions are warming the planet. If the earth’s temperature was at its hottest in 2015, how are we making it warmer? The memo states that we must figure this out before making drastic changes.

The memo indicates that the Biden Administration isn’t on track to meet the original 2050 goal. Per Fox News, “‘Both the electricity utility industry and the Biden administration have now admitted that cutting net emissions to zero by 2050 (‘net zero by 2050’) are not happening,’ the memo outlined.”

Last, the memo points out that climate change has sparked apocalypse theories since almost 1970, but none have come true.

Last year, Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act was touted as a plan to reduce inflation and included a massive climate investment. Now, House Republicans are ready to start tackling the agenda. Last month, they started with a bill that will reverse regulations in the fossil fuel industry, which have become a burden on companies and resulted in higher prices.
