BIPOC-Only Programs Spark Outrage And Federal Investigation At This 'Diverse' University

Programs are being opened that bar white students from participating. Activities on campus, such as fitness clubs, require students of a certain race to attend. Now, white students are fighting back against BIPOC programs. BIPOC stands for Black, indigenous, and People Of Color.

Pacific University is the latest campus to come under fire for excluding white students. The university is now under federal investigation regarding three incidents that banned white students. Mark Perry was informed that the Department of Education’s Office would open an investigation into Civil Rights.

According to Breitbart, “‘I’m assuming the University will agree to discontinue those events/programs or open them to everybody regardless of race,” Perry told The College Fix. “In that case, it’s likely the University would also discontinue all BIPOC-only events/programs, including any BIPOC-only faculty/staff events/programs,’ he added.”

The programs include a virtual forum, a mentorship program, and a confidential space for people of color to establish a community. One of the requirements for attending these BIPOC activities is that a person must be Black, Indigenous, and of color.

While Pacific University is the latest to make headlines, it’s far from the only campus to exclude white people. UNC Chapel Hill had to allow white students to attend a BIPOC nutrition program after getting slammed with a civil rights suit. The University of Minnesota’s Multicultural Center hosted BIPOC fitness classes with activities only for the BIPOC community. During a conference at Michigan State University, students were segregated to keep white people away from people of color.

This extends far beyond higher education institutions. According to Breitbart, “An investigation by Breitbart News found that a former diversity director at Maryvale Preparatory, an all-girls Catholic school in Maryland, claimed that ‘BIPOC students’ must be protected from the ‘white gaze.’ She added that “BIPOC spaces are sacred.’”

I’m all for including diversity and inclusion in academics, but you must draw the line somewhere. Inclusion means including everyone. Instead, this is doing little more than creating a more divisive society and re-creating segregation.
