Fox News reports the tragic news of 11-year-old Felicia LoAlbo-Melendez’s suicide.

The young girl was a victim of ongoing bullying.

According to her mother, Felicia has been a staunch advocate against bullying since kindergarten. Felicia was vocal about the issue of bullying and had reached out to school officials, alerting them of the problem.

Before her death, Felicia penned one last email to school officials imploring them to take steps and even made a suggestion for them to consider.

Felicia’s mother shared the email with Fox News Digital.

Felicia wrote, “Hello, Mr. Finn, I was watching TV and thinking about the things in my life that have happened to me. Then, I got a great idea! Instead of a drama club, it would be a Trama club! Trama is not a light subject to talk about, but I believe that having somewhere that people can go to, distress, and let out all of their feelings and emotions.

If this were to happen, I would help and provide as much as I can. We would need a room that is not too big but not too small. We would need a couple of chairs, too. Well, I hope that this does happen. I, for one, have heard from my friends and others about things that have happened to them, and I think this would be a fantastic thing. Have a great night.”

Felicia’s mother plans to keep her daughter’s message “of empowering these kids to stand up for themselves” ongoing. “It’s not just my daughter’s cries that fell on deaf ears, but this is happening in all the schools.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, bullying is a “frequent discipline problem” in person and online and is fast becoming a national issue. The CDC also reports, “About one in five high school students reported being bullied on school property, and more than one in six high school students reported being bullied online in the last year.” “Nearly 14 percent of public schools report that bullying is a discipline problem occurring daily or at least once a week.”

In a recording from 2021 found on Felicia’s phone by her mother, the young advocate promoted being nice to everyone and added, “Don’t be a bully.”

Felicia was found unresponsive in the restroom at school on February 6. Her death was ruled a suicide.
