The possibility that DeSantis will run for the White House is still there, but some Sunshine State Republicans are still throwing their support behind former President Donald Trump.

Representative Byron Daniels is the latest Florida Republican to voice his support for Trump.

Daniels recently explained why in a statement. The Blaze says, “‘There is only one leader at this time in our nation’s history who can seize this moment and deliver what we need - to get us back on track, provide strength and resolve, and Make America Great Again. That is why I am honored to endorse President Donald J. Trump for President in 2024, and I ask my fellow Americans to join me today,’ Donalds said in a statement.”

Matt Gaetz and Anna Paulina Luna are both from Florida and are backing Trump. Gaetz further stated that Cruz and DeSantis should also publicly endorse former President Trump.

DeSantis has not announced that he will run for President. He’s said he thinks he could easily beat President Joe Biden but has not made the same comment regarding Trump. Regardless, Republicans Thomas Massie and Chip Roy have already endorsed DeSantis. Most polls also include DeSantis in the results.

So far, there are three Republicans that are challenging Trump for the White House: Nikki Haley, Asa Hutchinson, and Vivek Ramaswamy. Trump is dominating in the polls, though. According to Fox News, “Republican primary voters were read a list of 15 announced and potential candidates for the 2024 nomination.

The survey, released Wednesday, finds Trump has doubled his lead since February and is up by 30 points over DeSantis (54%-24%). Last month, he was up by 15 points (43%-28%).”

When primary voters were asked about a second choice, they mainly picked either DeSantis or Trump. DeSantis voters chose Trump as a second choice, and Trump voters mainly chose DeSantis as a second choice.
