North Korea sounds the alarm, warning that the world may be pushed into nuclear war.

North Korean state media says that joint military drills between South Korea and the United States threaten the region’s security and push tensions to the brink of nuclear war. This comes after the United States flew B-52 Bombers that are nuclear capable over the peninsula.

The joint military exercises also consisted of naval exercises. However, North Korea sees it as more than just a few allied joint exercises. According to Fox News, “‘The U.S. kicked off different largest-ever joint military drills against the DPRK simultaneously despite the latter’s repeated grave warnings, pushing the security situation of the Korean peninsula to the brink of a nuclear war,’ read an article published by the state-run Korean Central News Agency on Thursday.”

North Korea says that the joint exercises are to create a hostile atmosphere with DPRK. The article accuses the allied forces of the United States, Japan, and South Korea of making several hostile remarks against North Korea. Ironically, the article calls for peace and stability in the region.

Just last month, the country that calls for peace and stability launched a series of missiles into the water as a show of force and to test the country’s capabilities. Kim Jong Un further told his nation that they must be ready to launch a nuclear war to deter war.

It’s standard for allies to hold joint military exercises to increase capabilities among the allied nations. However, while North Korea threatens nuclear war, the United States, Japan, and South Korea are supposed to sit by and do nothing. The joint exercises are called a provocation, but how many times has North Korea threatened war or to nuke someone? The rest of the world must be prepared to defend itself against such threats, regardless of how other countries perceive those preparations.
