U.S. officials continue to dismiss concerns about the intelligence that the Chinese might have gathered as a result of the spy balloons that they launched over American soil. Fox News says military officials have stuck by their original comments that any intelligence gathered by the Chinese from these spy balloons was of “limited value.” They also note that they took measures to limit the value of any data the spy balloons might have gathered.

This news comes even though reports from NBC News indicate that some of the intelligence gathered by the balloons include sensitive data from military bases and other vital areas of our country. The Biden Administration might have tried to prevent this, but it appears that it has happened regardless.

Two current senior U.S. officials and a former senior Biden administration official provided this information to NBC News. They claim that China could control the balloon’s path and retrieve data from it in real-time. They say this might have helped Beijing receive all the information and data it needed from that balloon right when it wanted it.

NBC News relied heavily on the reports from the officials involved in this report. They say that most of the data the Chinese recovered were from electronic signals from the site.

The report also indicates that the United States could have prevented the balloon from gathering as much data as it did if the Biden Administration had acted more swiftly. However, that is not what happened in this case, which leaves sensitive American data potentially exposed and in the hands of the Chinese government.

No one knows for sure how much data might have been retrieved by the Chinese as a result of the spy balloons that they launched over our country, but many are upset that this is something that was allowed to happen at all.

Fox News reports that officials finally shot down the balloon over South Carolina on February 4. Still, it had soared across the entire country before our military took it down. That allowed it to soar over many military sites, and it might have made it possible for the Chinese to gather a lot more data from the balloon than we ever would have wanted them to have access to.

Overall, this is yet another potential security threat that could pose a real risk to the future of America. Many believe the Biden Administration isn’t doing enough about it.
