In a recent development, Michael T. Dolce, a 53-year-old attorney and leader of the Sexual Abuse, Sex Trafficking, and Domestic Abuse team at the Palm Beach Gardens law firm Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll, was arrested on charges of child pornography possession.

Dolce's house was raided by FBI agents who discovered nearly 2,000 sexually explicit photos and videos of young children stored on his Samsung laptop, according to a Southern District of Florida U.S. Attorney's Office press release. FBI agents attempted to serve him with a warrant, but he did not respond, forcing the agents to breach his door forcefully. The FBI team found Dolce on a bed with his laptop, "actively downloading child pornography using peer-2-peer software, said the attorney’s office in a press release.

The complaint stated, "As of 3/24/23, FBI personnel had identified one-thousand nine-hundred ninety-seven images and five videos of child pornography based upon known hash values for previously identified child pornography."

"Prosecutors say Dolce used a BitTorrent network, built for peer-to-peer file sharing, to anonymously download pornography depicting children between 5 and 11 years old in sexually explicit positions.” He was arrested and is facing up to 20 years in prison.

Dolce’s Linkedin profile says, "A highly regarded trial lawyer and political activist, Mr. Dolce’s practice is dedicated to representing survivors of sexual crimes, including child and adult victims, and adult survivors of child sexual abuse." It also reads, "He also appears as an expert in the award-winning documentary film, 'Pursuit of Truth: Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse Seeking Justice,'"

Dolce has been terminated from his law firm, and the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence board, where he had been a member since 2011, has removed him from the position.
