Bill Maher recently spoke against parents on his podcast Club Random w/ Bill Moher.

He aimed at what he referred to as bulldozer parents. He said that parents like that make children fragile and that children need to be made of tougher stuff.

Maher spoke to a guest on the show named Arianna Huffington. They talked about a recent incident in which a girl was bullied online, leading to her suicide. Maher was sympathetic about the incident but had a few other words to say.

Fox News reports, ‘“I think in general parents do a s--t job these days of instilling in their kids a sense of ‘you need to be made of sterner stuff.’ You know, just in general, a general note. That’s never what they teach kids. It’s just like, how can we bulldoze? They call them bulldozer parents. How can we bulldoze all obstacles away from you before you get there,” Maher said.”

He says he understands how issues with social media can lead a person to suicide, explaining that when a child is bullied in school, they go home at the end of the day, but that isn’t the case with online bullying. Maher said, “With the phone following you, and then you know if you tweet it, and they’ll go back to eighth grade to get people.”

Maher points out that people can dig up old pictures and posts when a person was “young and dumb,” making it easier to find something to bully them about.

Maher is also known for using his HBO show to blast cancel culture. While this has put him in an “at odds” situation with the left, many support him and his remarks.

He said, “Does everything have to be a summary execution in America? What happened to just accepting the apology? “Oh, OK, you made a mistake, as humans do. I mean, could we get on with our lives?”
