WATCH: Sunny Hostin Annihilated For Making This STARTLING Comparison During The View Broadcast

Sunny Hostin, “The View” host, is being dogged for comparing the prison systems in the United States and the prison system in China.

Many believe it is an unfair comparison, and Hostin has gone too far out on a limb with this one.

Hostin said:

“As a woman of color with a six-foot-two black kid in college and a five-foot-seven, five-foot-eight black kid in high school, I don’t see that part of American exceptionalism. I’m sorry. I think this country has a lot of problems that [could be] solved. Yes, maybe they’re putting Muslims in jail in China. They’re putting a lot more black people in jail here.”

"Outnumbered” co-host Kayleigh McEnany offered her opinion on these comments by saying, “She was putting the United States of America on the same moral plateau as China, who our [own] government has said is committing genocide, [who] the United Nations said is committing crimes against humanity. Since when is it okay to dismiss a genocide on a mainstream talk show?”

Many believe it is a big stretch to say that the prison system in the United States is similar to China in any way. Many suggest that making such a comparison is insulting to the troubles that many in the Chinese prison system have had to go through under that repressive regime. Hostin seems too willing to completely dismiss these prisoners outright and not think about the troubles they have had to go through in the oppressive Chinese prison system.

The Chinese Communist Party admits it has re-education camps but claims they are voluntary. However, according to Fox News, international reviews of those camps reveal forced labor, sterilization, and other human rights violations.

McEnany remarked, “To equate our country with China committing genocide is reprehensible, and you do not belong on a mainstream talk show in this country.”

"Outnumbered” co-host Emily Compango also spoke up to criticize the remarks by “The View” co-host. Compango said:

“The problem with that comparison that I see, as someone who has spent hundreds of hours in federal and state prisons here in this country, is that it ruins the light that she was trying to shed on the incarcerated here [in this country] by making a ridiculous comparison.”

There is certainly a lot to pick apart with a statement like this.
