Vladimir Putin isn’t afraid of anything that the United States or anyone else might say about him or try to accuse him of.

Instead, Putin is boldly announcing his latest round of plans related to his military ambitions worldwide. Radar Online reports that Putin says that he is planning on putting nuclear-powered super torpedo submarines in the Pacific Ocean by the end of the year.

This move is the latest in the ongoing war with Ukraine that started between Ukraine and Russia in February 2022. The 70-year-old Russian leader does not appear to be backing down or backing away from any of the plans he might have ever had. The Daily Star reports that Poseidon torpedoes will be positioned on Russia’s Belgorod and Khabarovsk nuclear submarines to put them out into the Pacific Ocean and potentially threaten Western allies that are by and large backing Ukraine in the conflict.

This latest development is even more frightening because Russia recently moved some nuclear missiles into its neighboring country of Belarus. Belarus is a Russian ally, and it appears that the government more or less is completely backing Russia in the conflict. They are entirely permitting Russia to move nuclear arms into its borders.

Putin said:

“We are doing what they have been doing for decades, stationing them in certain allied countries, preparing the Ulaunch platforms and training their crews,” while going after the United Kingdom for backing Ukraine in the conflict.

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, says that he believes Russia is holding Belarus hostage because they are a much smaller and less militarily developed country. He feels they are hostage to Russia’s whims because of the overwhelming power of Putin’s military.

Danilov also claims that the latest move by Putin is “a step towards internal destabilization” and increased “the level of negative perception and public rejection” expressed by Belarus and the people that live there.

However, despite all this, National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson says that she doesn’t see any indications that Russia will immediately use nuclear weapons anywhere on the battlefield. Despite that promise, many feel it is still highly concerning that Russia has been able to go as far as it already has. Many are carefully eyeing this situation to see what might happen next.
