Mayo suggested that if Trump is chosen as a nominee, he and other conservatives will vote for Democratic President Joe Biden in the general election. "Hey, GOP: If you nominate Trump again, conservatives are going to vote for Joe Biden—again. And more of us this time. It's your call," Mayo tweeted. In another tweet, he wrote, "I disagree with Biden on tons, but he won't inspire an attack on our Capitol or call to 'terminate' the Constitution or deny elections." Mayo also encouraged other conservatives to declare their stance on the issue publicly and suggested that doing so could influence the GOP's decision.

In his own statement, Mayo asserted that voting for Biden would be easier the second time around. "I voted for Biden over Trump and would do so again with even greater ease and confidence a second time," he stated, describing Trump as "a nutcase." While Trump's candidacy is already confirmed, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has yet to make a "final decision" regarding his own potential presidential run.
As of now, Trump is leading the polls for the GOP while everyone is waiting to see if that changes when Florida Governor DeSantis makes an official announcement and join the race.
