Former President Donald Trump took the stage in Waco, Texas on Saturday to declare his plans to run for the 2024 presidential election and to proclaim his supporters will be vindicated when he wins. "When this election is over, I will be the President of the United States," Trump announced to a cheering crowd, "You will be vindicated and proud, and the thugs and criminals who are corrupting our justice system will be defeated, discredited and totally disgraced. That's what's happening." He asserted that his opponents have attempted to weaken his support base but have only made them stronger. "When they go after me, they go after you," he said, "Our opponents have done everything they can to crush our spirit and to break our will but they've failed. They've only made us stronger." Trump accused the establishment media of concealing the truth about his opponents, referencing Hunter Biden's laptop from a Delaware computer repair shop, which implicated Joe Biden in corruption and profiteering. He also cited high-level politicians such as Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, Schumer, Biden, and the Justice Department as the country's biggest threat, declaring that if he is re-elected to the White House, their reign will be over and America will be "a free nation once again." He was joined by supporters such as Florida Representative Matt Gaetz and Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. Thousands of supporters cheered as Trump declared his intention to run for President and promised to reverse "every single crisis, calamity, and disaster that Joe Biden has created."
