Joe Exotic became famous thanks to a Netflix series called Tiger King.

Now, he’s in prison, but he’s not shy about sharing thoughts on the upcoming Presidential election. A recent interview shed light on the presidential campaign he plans to run from prison.

Critics instantly began to call the campaign a massive joke. Joe Exotic is currently in prison for a murder-for-hire plot and multiple animal violations, but that doesn’t matter. He says that he has a chance, just like anyone else.

According to Fox News, “Things have to be changed in our country, our political system, our Justice Department, our prison system,” he said. “Somebody’s got to start asking some real questions for the people that work their butts off in this country to pay the bills for these politicians just to keep paying this money away.”

However, Joe Exotic is also facing harsh criticism from the Libertarian party. Per Fox, “the party’s chair, Angela McArdle, claimed: ‘We are not a landing pad for former reality stars and D-list celebrities.’”

Previously, when he ran for Governor of Oklahoma, the Libertarian Party voted not to let independents vote to ensure that he didn’t get as many votes, according to Joe Exotic. So, the backlash from the party this time doesn’t surprise him.

Then, Joe Exotic, whose real name is Joe Maldonado, made several interesting points that Americans might back up. He points out that we need to stop policing the rest of the world and sending billions of dollars overseas. He points out that it’s time we stop funding everyone else while Americans suffer from cuts in Social Security and there are homeless veterans. Maldonado says it doesn’t matter that he’s in prison because he sees the problems in the system.

Maldonado won’t be hitting the campaign trail or heading to rallies like the other candidates, but that won’t stop him.
