Andrew Cuomo is best known for being the former Governor of New York.

He still finds himself in the spotlight and has zero problems using that spotlight to make harsh statements. During a recent interview, he told the world his thoughts on the Trump probe.

According to Fox News, “Former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo criticized Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg over his focus on potentially prosecuting former President Donald Trump and suggested the move is politically motivated.”

Cuomo told WABC radio that he couldn’t comprehend why the District Attorney focused so heavily on this case. He points out that this is a misdemeanor case on the state level. Then, Cuomo says that for this to be a felony case, Bragg needs to focus on the alleged campaign finance fraud, but he’s not doing that.

Cuomo then says that it feeds the cynical attitude of the public to see all of these cases against Trump. For example, this case is a misdemeanor, but they’re going after Trump as hard as possible. Georgia went after Trump with the same political motivation. Cuomo was right when he said that these cases are feeding partisanship.

Fox News continues, “Despite the comments about Bragg’s motivation, Cuomo says he does believe an indictment will [be] handed down next week while bringing up the adage that District attorneys can ‘indict a ham sandwich’ if they want to.”

Bragg has received harsh criticism from the GOP for pushing the case in which Trump allegedly gave porn star Stormy Daniels hush money. Many Republicans have pointed out how politically motivated the matter is. However, it’s obvious when a Democrat can see it too.

Right now, Republicans are fighting back against the weak case. They want to see Bragg testify to Congress to ensure that it doesn’t interfere with the upcoming 2024 election. Per Fox News, “Bragg sent a letter to the Republicans saying that their inquiry was ‘an unlawful incursion into New York’s sovereignty.’” However, Republicans say that the inquiry is part of the legislative process, and they’re still fighting for Trump and a fair election.
