A threat to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin has the leaders in that country up in arms.

Former Russian President Dmitry, now Russia’s deputy chairman of the security council, has repeatedly stated the country is locked, loaded, and ready to launch "all our missiles."

According to a report by The Blaze, on March 17, an arrest warrant was issued by the International Criminal Court for Putin and Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, who served as Putin’s commissioner for children’s rights.

The warrant accused both of unlawfully deporting children from Ukraine to Russia, a war crime. ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan noted these acts “demonstrate an intention to permanently remove these children from their own country.”

The ICC is based in the Hague in the Netherlands, with 123 countries that support the Rome Statute. The U.S., Russia, India, and China are not part of the ICC. The countries that have signed are legally bound to implement the arrest warrant.

Several countries, which include Ireland, Germany, and Canada, have confirmed Putin will be arrested if he is found in their country.

The action taken by the ICC was decided one year after a unanimous vote by the U.S. Senate passed a resolution naming Putin a war criminal. According to Reuters, the resolution was introduced by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

A Twitter post by Mykhailo Podolyak, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky’s advisor, says that Putin’s status as an accused war criminal could have repercussions as long as the “face of Putin” represents Russia.

On Wednesday, Medvedev said in a video posted to the Telegram, “Let’s imagine-obviously this situation, which will never be realized - but nevertheless, let’s imagine that it was realized: The current head of the nuclear state went to a territory, say, Germany.”

Medvedev continued, saying, “What would that be? It would be a declaration of war on the Russian Federation.” “And, in that case, all our assets - all our missiles, etc. - would fly to the Bundestag, to the Chancellor’s office.”

On Friday, Medvedev followed up on Twitter with a similar threat, stating if, for example, Putin were arrested in Germany, it would be “casus belli, the unequivocal declaration of war against the Russian Federation! In that case, Russia would be forced to attack Berlin, and its means of destruction will rain on the Bundestag, the Chancellery, the Ministry of Defense, and other key centers of decision-making. Mr. Scholz has picked himself a truly great team! Poor Germans...”

The ICC condemned Medvedev’s threats.
