Ernest Vogliano, son of the late Ernest Vogliano Sr., the famed NYC restaurant owner of Il Vagabondo, tragically died in an accident at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening.

According to sources, Vogliano, 61, had been 'riding' the escalator railing after a Rangers game when he plummeted three floors down. He was rushed to Bellevue hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His mother survives Vogliano; siblings Robert, Jennifer, and Marie; children Blaze and Summer and his wife, Lesa. His late father had owned the popular Upper East Side Italian restaurant Il Vagabondo, known for its celebrity patrons such as Tom Hanks and Cindy Crawford. The restaurant closed its doors in 2019.

The incident has left many unanswered questions, prompting Vogliano's widow, Lesa, to hire an attorney to understand what happened. Fred Eisenberg, the family's attorney, has requested Madison Square Garden officials preserve all evidence of the accident, including surveillance video footage.

James Dolan, the owner of Madison Square Garden, did not respond to the incident. Madison Square Garden is known to have cameras covering the arena and its facial recognition technology. Dolan was accused of using technology to prevent unwanted individuals from entering the arena. Spike Lee has spoken out about being denied access to the Garden to watch Knicks games.
