However, DeSantis did not immediately comment on Trump’s possible indictment. This instantly led to backlash from the GOP. Mediaite said DeSantis said, “I don’t know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star. What I can speak to is if you have a prosecutor who is ignoring crimes happening daily in his jurisdiction. He chose to go back many, many years ago. That’s an example of pursuing a political agenda and weaponizing the office.”

Almost instantly, Trump took to Truth Social to fire back and DeSantis. Per the same news source, Trump said DeSantis “will probably find out about false accusations and fake stories going on to say as he gets older, wiser and better known when he’s unfairly or illegally attacked by a woman or even classmates that are under age or possibly a man.”

After that, Trump linked to a story about DeSantis partying hard with underage girls while teaching at a Georgia school. The other side says it was just DeSantis hanging out with some of his students. However, Trump has repeatedly implied that DeSantis was grooming underage girls with alcohol, and many say that Trump insinuates that DeSantis is a pedophile. No one knows whether the picture of a younger DeSantis hanging out with an underage girl is legit.
Many say that this hurts DeSantis if he chooses to run. That’s because they feel that if you don’t have MAGA behind you, you can’t win as a Republican right now. However, that makes things look a little more solid for Trump.
