A CNN correspondent in San Fransisco reporting on the rampant crime that has taken over the city was robbed in a matter of minutes. According to The Post Millennial, “On Friday, CNN Senior National Correspondent Kyung Lah’s rental car was robbed in San Francisco, and it took the thieves less than 4 seconds to smash the vehicle’s rear window and run off with one of her bags as well as one of CNN Producer Jason Kravarik’s bags.” This incident happened despite her making an extra effort by hiring private security. Lah stated that private security guards managed to stop the criminals from stealing the rest of her things, but that was it. [tweet_embed]March 21, 2023[/tweet_embed] Not only did they steal her bag, but they also smashed the window of her rental car to get to her belongings. Security guards attempted to grab the guy but were unable to. However, they did manage to capture a picture of their car. The mayor of San Francisco is London Breed. This mayor is the highest-paid mayor, leading the movement to defund the police. Since defunding the police demands began, crime has increased, including violent crimes. Rape has increased by 9.5 percent, assault by 12.5 percent, and overall crime by just over 7 percent. Even Elon Musk felt the need to comment on the crime-ridden city. According to The Post Millennial, “‘So maybe having police & arresting criminals wasn’t such a bad idea after all,’ Elon Musk responded.” Unfortunately, this is far from an isolated incident. The airline was able to quickly help Lah, even though she didn’t have an ID, because they were used to the problem. Lah was also warned that gas stations near the airport are a common target. The rampant crime isn’t the only problem the city is facing. Homelessness continues to increase, with around 8,000 people now homeless. The Democrat city also has a $1.7 billion deficit.
