It wasn’t such a good day for Vice-President Kamala Harris as she and her husband tried to soak in some March Madness action. Fox News reports that the couple attended the matchup between Kansas and Howard in the tournament’s first round. Harris is a graduate of Howard University, and she wanted to back her school in their game. They were overmatched in this 1-seed versus 16-seed contest, but the Vice-President stood by her team regardless. However, that wasn’t the worst part. Fox News reports that numerous media outlets say that the boos from the audience in attendance at the game when the Vice-President was announced as being there far outnumbered the cheers she received. That must have been embarrassing for her! To make matters worse, her school got routed in the game, and they had to walk away with their heads hanging low. Then, they were greeted with a pep talk by the Vice-President herself. [tweet_embed]March 19, 2023[/tweet_embed] She said: “You played hard. You played to the very last second. You made all us Bison proud,” and “You are smart. You are disciplined. You put everything you had into the game. You guys did not stop, and that is so inspiring. So you keep playing with chin up and shoulders back because you showed the world who Bison are.” She continued, saying, "So I know you may not be feeling great right now, OK, but know who you are. You are excellence. You are hard work. You are powerful, and you are winners.” That being said, many took to social media to mock the speech given by the Vice President. They very reasonably pointed out that the speech sometimes felt stilted and seemed almost robotic in delivery. Some even said that they felt bad that the players had to have the sting of the loss compounded by listening to this speech. It was a rough day to be Kamala Harris.
