Polls Show Who Republican Women Favor For 2024 Presidential Election

The 2024 Republican primary process is just starting to heat up, but there are already some polls about how voters think about the different candidates.

Fox News reports that Republican women are leaning toward former President Donald Trump when polled on who they support for the primary race.

A recent Fox News poll in the field found that 40% of GOP women are backing the former President as their preferred candidate in the primary. It should be noted that there are only two officially declared significant candidates for the GOP nomination, former President Trump and former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley. However, many other potential candidates were included in the Fox News poll to get a more accurate reading of where the party stands. This is because many people are interested in seeing where the GOP base stands on questions such as where the party support stands on potential candidates such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

In the Fox News poll of just GOP women, Ron DeSantis registered 23% support, and Nikki Haley came in at 9% support. Former Vice-President Mike Pence garnered 8% support, and no other potential candidate generated more than 2% support in the poll.

These women were asked who their second choice would be if their top choice didn’t make it. Ron DeSantis won the second choice question easily with 25% support. This compared to just 13% support for Trump and Pence. Meanwhile, Haley got 9% of the second-choice support among GOP women.

When the poll was narrowed to just the two officially declared candidates, Trump won easily, with 63% support to Haley’s 27% support. Just 1% of the respondents said they would not vote, and 7% said they would support someone else.

Republican women were vehemently opposed to the job that President Biden did in office. In the poll among just GOP women, Biden received 91% disapproval compared to just 8% approval.

A plurality of women in the poll said that the economy is their primary concern. This was listed as the number one concern of 46% of the women in the poll. The second biggest issue was immigration at 23%.

This is some early polling data on GOP women within the party, and things could change. However, it is interesting to see where people stand on the issues.
