Reports now say that Lemon may return mid-week and will participate in intense formalized training.
Don Lemon, who recently made demeaning comments about the ex-UN ambassador Nikki Haley, has been absent from his CNN morning show since Friday.
It has been reported to Confinder that CNN management has implemented a new schedule, and Don Lemon is not included. Poppy Harlow will be accompanied by Sara Sidner and Kaitlan Collins, who is currently in Poland, according to the Daily Beast. CNN has confirmed that Lemon is on an "extended" holiday, and there are "serious, ongoing conversations" related to his status with the network.

Don Lemon conveyed an apology to his CNN colleagues in response to his previous comments concerning Nikki Haley, in which he asserted that “Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime. Sorry, when a woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s, and 30s, and maybe 40s.” This statement was made after Haley had proposed that politicians over the age of 75 should take "mental competency tests." In response, CNN CEO Christ Licht expressed that he was "disappointed" by Lemon’s remarks.

He admitted on Friday that the statement he made earlier in the day regarding a woman's "prime" was inappropriate and not pertinent to the subject, as he was reminded by his associates and family. He expressed regret for his comments.
On a Friday editorial call, CEO Licht stated, "His remarks were upsetting, unacceptable, and unfair to his co-hosts, and ultimately a huge distraction to the great work of this organization."
It's uncertain what lies ahead for Lemon on the network. His prime-time show was taken off the air in September, and he was shifted to the morning slot, which replaced New Day.
