Former CNN host Chris Cuomo is speaking out about how he took his firing in 2021 from the network amid multiple controversies.

Fox News reported on Cuomo's words and said that the former host stated that he was extremely distraught by what happened when he was fired from CNN. Cuomo went on Anthony Scaramucci's "Open Book" podcast to speak about his experience. He stated the following:.

"You've got to make things happen. There is no luck, there is no fate, there is no destiny. What happens is what you make happen and how you deal with what is made to happen to you, for better and worse," and "And you know, I make a lot of mistakes — sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad reason. I'm very flawed. There's damage, there's damage that's relatable to people, there's damage that's unrelatable to people that I have to deal with that I try to deal with that I do the work on, I still fail."

Cuomo even stated that he was ready to kill everyone, including himself, after what happened with his termination from CNN. He said that things like this could serve to consume you, and he noted that he is Italian and that Italians are very passionate about things in his experience. Thus, he stated that he needed to figure out a different path forward before things got very ugly. It was certainly a possibility for him, and he didn't want that to happen.

He continued his dialogue with Scaramucci by saying:

"And look, I'm gonna screw up. And I always tell my kids, you know, almost 20, 17, 13, that — don't be me. Learn from me. I love you. I will always love you, doesn't matter what you do, and I am here for whatever I can do. I'm gonna get angry, I'm gonna screw up, I'm gonna make mistakes, I'm gonna say and do things that you should not say and do. And I try, but I fail. And you have to know that. I'm not here, okay?"

Essentially, Cuomo said that he had too many people counting on him to do something to harm himself, but he did not deny that he had those kinds of thoughts along the way.

He also clarified that he didn't want people to hold him up as an idol. He says they can learn things from him, but holding anyone up as an idol is dangerous and puts too much pressure on any given individual.
